Mysten Labs, the creator of the Sui blockchain, was hacked on Discord

According to a Saturday post from the designers of Sui blockchain Mysten Labs, their Discord server has been hacked. He advises visitors not to click on any links placed on the server within eight hours of his Twitter post and says the team is trying to fix the problem. According to an unverified screenshot shared on Twitter, the hackers put a link to a supposed airdrop on the server’s announcement channel.

Sui blockchain, a permissionless proof-of-stake blockchain, was introduced in March as Mysten Labs’ first offering.

Evan Cheng, Sam Blackshear, Adeniyi Abiodun and George Danezis, four former developers from the crypto section of Meta Novi, started Mysten Labs, a web3 infrastructure company. They were previously involved in the Diem blockchain and the Move programming language.

Andreessen Horowitz and Coinbase Ventures are among the company’s main investors. It raised $36 million in December and said in July it was targeting a $2 billion valuation.
